TravelVu will collect position data even when it is on in the background of your phone. In most cases all you have to do is to grant it the permissions that are requested. But if you have disabled location on your phone, have low power mode enabled, or have had trouble with tracking data, please follow this article and review the settings on your phone. In order to reduce the battery drain, TravelVu uses the accelerometer to start the GPS.
Global settings
Open Settings > Location, and ensure that location is enabled and precision is set to high.
Open Settings > Battery, and ensure that power save mode is not activated.
The actual path to the settings can vary on some Android devices, depending on the manufacturer.
If you have a Samsung phone, you need to change Samsung battery settings.
If you have a Huawei phone you need to enable that TravelVu is allowed to run in the background on Huawei.
Per app settings
Open Settings > Apps > TravelVu > Permissions and ensure that location is enabled.
Open Settings > Apps > TravelVu > Battery > Optimization and turn off battery optimization if it is enabled.
On some brands it is not enough to simply turn off battery optimization in order to disable some features that close apps which have been on in the background when the screen has been off for e.g. 20 minutes. That is unless the user turns off this feature for the operating system. Other brands have made it more difficult or at least non-standardized. For the moment, we refer to dontkillmyapp.com for more detailed solutions for each Android brand.
